Fenton

A 92-acre mixed-use development in Cary, N.C. is Cary’s first vertically integrated, mixed-use destination.

Fenton

The development at build-out will offer 2.5 million square feet of retail, office, restaurant, hotel and multifamily. To launch Fenton, Goodwin worked as a partner to the Columbia Development team and leveraged strong relationships with the state of North Carolina (the land seller), Wegmans and the Town of Cary. Throughout the development process, Goodwin remained an important asset for Columbia Development, Hines, and USAA Real Estate.

Depot 499

GoodwinCo is partnering with Edgewater Ventures and East West Partners to develop the multi-family and mixed-use components of Depot 499, a 200-are multi-use project in Apex, N.C. Goodwin was instrumental in the entitlement process in Apex and in securing 25 acres from national residential real estate firm Lennar for the multi-family and commercial/mixed-use components of the project. About Abbitt Goodwin

Goodwin founded GoodwinCo in 2022 with the mission of building partnerships to create meaningful places, including retail and mixed-use developments. GoodwinCo has expertise in site selection; entitlement; government relations; securing anchor tenants; site planning; recruiting partners; and designing capital structure.

Prior to founding GoodwinCo, Goodwin played an integral role as a partner to Columbia Development in over three million square feet of commercial and mixed-use space across 30+ projects, including the 92-acre mixed-use development, Fenton, in Cary, N.C. Columbia continues to be a valued partner at Fenton and in several other retail focused properties.

Goodwin began his career with CB Commercial in 1997. He was the Managing Partner for The Shopping Center Group, LLC in Raleigh from 2000 through 2013.

Goodwin is a graduate of Episcopal High School (92’). He earned his BA in real estate from the University of Georgia (’97) with a BA in Real Estate. He is an avid outdoorsman and spends a great deal of leisure time with family and friends in Atlantic Beach, NC.
